For Students
Through the School-to-Work Coordinator, the service offers students two types of work-related experiences:
- Structured Workplace Learning & Work Experience
- School-based Apprenticeships or Traineeships.
Structured workplace learning & Work Experience:
| Eligibility: |
- Year 10 students interested in enrolling in either the Employment or VET & Apprenticeship/Traineeship Pathway
- Year 11 or 12 students enrolled in Employment or VET & Apprenticeship/Traineeship Pathway

| Experience: |
Students attend a workplace which directly relates to a vocational program they are studying or plan to study. Through workplace learning experiences students can:
- learn specific technical skills,
- develop their communication skills in the work environment, and
- better prepare themselves for the transition from school to work.

School-based Apprenticeships or Traineeships
| Eligibility: |
- Year 11 & 12 students enrolled in School-based Traineeship /Apprenticeship Pathway
|
| Experience: |
Students who begin an apprenticeship or traineeship in Year 11 or 12 enter a training and paid employment contract with a local or regional employer.
Students’ timetable combines work, training and school study. The School-to-Work coordinator prepares all the necessary paperwork.

In addition, the School-to-Work Coordinator can also provide students and their family with:
- Career information on a range of occupations
- Job-search and interviewing advice
- Support agency referrals
- General career planning advice
