Situated in the Inner Islands of the Torres Strait, Horn Campus provides education to approximately 145 boys and girls from Pre-prep to Year 7. Our school services the communities of Horn Island and Thursday Island.

Horn Island Campus was opened in 1993 and consists of low-set open-plan design classrooms. Students and staff enjoy modern facilities including air-conditioning in all classrooms, the library and computer lab.

We also have a dedicated art room and a gardening plot. The school has a large oval and students have access to an excellent basketball court. The locality offers an exciting opportunity for our students in the near future as construction of a new multi purpose sports stadium, to be located next to the school, is due for completion in August, 2007.

Horn Island Campus is building a reputation within the local community for pursuing academic excellence and assuring the best in educational service. The school climate revolves around high expectations and our vision and key values of students becoming Confident, Clever and Caring.

Horn Island Campus is striving to improve student outcomes through the collaboration of our school vision, implementation of the ‘Bound for Success’ Curriculum Framework, establishing and building upon school and home partnerships as well as the accountability of personalised learning.

A sense of unity and pride has been generated around “Confident, Clever and Caring” through the development of our school song. Overall, we think our school is a great school that features a strong sense of community and a shared vision to help our students become ‘Confident, Clever and Caring’ citizens.
