Bruce and Denise Morcombe visit the Torres Strait

Last week Tagai State College was honoured to host a visit by
Bruce and Denise Morcombe from the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
Bruce and Denise spoke with students at four of the college’s largest campuses about the three R’s; Recognise unsafe situations by listening to body clues, React by screaming, running to a safe place, and Report to adults they nominate in their personal safety
networks. Students gained greater awareness of how to respond when they find themselves in uncomfortable situations. We encourage parents and community to explore and access the valuable information and free resources on the web:
A free app for mobile phones acts as a distress signal to alert parents that their child is in distress and provides details of their
exact location. We thank Bruce, Denise and the team
at the Daniel Morcombe Foundation for making this visit possible.
