Cambridge Trip

A small group of Tagai students travelled to England to learn more about the Repatriation Process of returning ancestral remains to the Torres Strait. The students were lucky to spend much of this trip viewing collections of Torres Strait artefacts in Museums throughout England, particularly what is now referred to as the ‘Haddon Collection’ at Cambridge University.
Upon their return, the students felt a cultural obligation to feedback to community on their visit to England as well as to share their own views, as young Torres Strait Islanders, on what should happen now with the return of Ancestral Remains as well as traditional artefacts to the Torres Strait.
