Rangers, Music and Culture at Warraber Ngurpay Lag

2/07/2015
Each Friday afternoon students of Warraber finish a busy week of learning with different activities. Students participate in rotational class programs: music, cultural or ranger activities.
We are very lucky here at Warraber to have Miss Kathy our pre-prep, prep and year one teacher who is a very talented and gifted musician. Each week she takes one class and does music activities with the students. Our community teacher Miss Annie takes another class and conducts language and cultural activities.
Other classes are engaged with ranger talks. Our last round of ranger activities was centred around seed dispersal. Warraberalgal Rangers bought in plenty of different seeds found on the island and talked about how the seeds get to where they germinate and grow. Students floated seeds in troughs full of water and observed if they could be spread by water.
