The Senior Phase of Learning at Tagai State College provides students with a supportive learning environment through which they begin their pathway to a successful future as a productive citizen.
Year 10
The Year 10 curriculum is designed to prepare all students for a smooth transition into Year 11 & 12. This structure assists students to make informed decisions about future career pathways, enhance their knowledge and skill in disciplines they have studied and in which they have an interest.
Student Education and Training Plans (SET Plans) are prepared with every Year 10 student and their family. This plan, which identifies a student’s senior learning pathway, is fundamental in ensuring each individual student progresses into productive citizenship.
Year 11 and 12
Each Senior student is streamed into one of three Senior Pathways:
1. University – studies are concentrated on QSA Authority subjects
2. Training, Apprenticeship and Traineeship – selected students participate in TAFE studies and complete on-the-job training as a core component of their learning.
3. Employment – students participate in practically-focused or vocational-specific subjects.
